The face behind the brand

Meet owner and designer Taylor Brown. Taylor was born and raised on Cape Cod in the small town of Chatham Massachusetts. Chatham is a town located at the elbow of Cape Cod with a booming fishing industry. Taylor was born into a fishing family, her father Nick Brown was a commercial fisherman out of the waters of Chatham for over twenty five years. After attending high school Taylor enrolled at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and recieved her degree in Fashion Desgin with a concentration in 3D fibers and textile. Taylor moved back home and began commercial shellfishing when the idea of her brand was sparked from the simple idea of creating headbands to keep the hair out of her face while she shellfished. After that, the idea of Fisherman's Daughter was born. Taylor begain drawing origninal ocean inspired graphics and hand screen printing them onto tee shirts. After popping up in local shops and attending local festivals like the Wellfleet Oysterfest Taylor settled on a home base brick and mortar store right in the heart of downtown Chatham where she has been able to expand her designs and showcase fifty other aritst and designers alongside her.
